Sequoia's sire, Sempatico, is one of the nicest colored warmblood stallions in sporthorse breeding. He earned his lifetime breeding license in Germany by successfully completing the 30 and 70-day tests. As a foal, Sempatico was the Bundeschampionat National Champion for ZfDP. Sempatico was sired by the Sandro son, Semper, who was from the elite mare, Imago. Sandro is also the grandsire of the legendary Sandro Hit. Sempatico's dam is the States Premium mare, Indian Dream, a granddaughter of Marco Polo, one of the greatest sires in The Netherlands known for his hereditary jumping talents and good character.
Sequoia's dam, Raise or Fold, is the product of Thoroughbred bloodlines known to produce international showjumpers. Her paternal grandsire, Sir Ribot, was sired by Ribot whose motherline descends from the Rock Sand and Marco lines. Sir Ribot's dam, Monarchia, has two connections to the Dark Ronald line and one to the Nearco line. Raise or Fold's paternal grandam, Fossil, was sired by Turn-to who directly descends form the French Grey, Nearco, Blenheim II, and Marco lines. Fossil's dam, Great Niece, brings two connection to the Rock Sand line and one connection to the Marco, French Grey, and Nearco lines. From Raise or Fold's damsire, Beau Prince, we see Teddy, Blenheim II, and Rock Sand via Man O' War in addition to the Dark Ronald and Marco lines. Her maternal granddam, Proud Wanda, was very well bred for sport. Her sire, Even Stephen, came from a Nasrullah daughter and he descends from the Teddy line twice and the Dark Ronald, French Grey, Nearco, and Blenheim II lines once each. Proud Wanda's dam, Proudanbusy, descends three time from the Rock Sand line and twice from the Dark Ronald line.
